Fourth Friday with Andre Shank at Onetribe

by | Jun 23, 2010 | ART

“We are welcoming a local concrete sculpture artist this month, Andre Shank, and look forward to sharing his antique production and original concrete creations. Andre’s work has a unique anthropological flair, including head busts from Mesoamerican and South American cultures.

We’ve been looking for an opportunity to serve Mayan Hot Chocolate at one of our events, so this just might be it! Come out and join us for the usual fun and enlightenment, possibly including the Richmond firespinners and bellydancing by Kim of Khalima Dance.” – via Facebook

“I would like to invite you to our sculpture show on Friday the 25th, from 7-10pm, at Onetribe Organics Adorn Salon and Museum. We will be presenting six large pieces and some limited edition prints. The majority of the work is made to look like Mayan antiquities. Everything is hand carved out of concrete. Join us for some light fare, drinks and a good time. Thank you.” – Andre Shank

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me
