Frank Frazetta R.I.P.

by | May 11, 2010 | ART

It pains me to write this but illustrator Frank Frazetta has passed away leaving the world a bit colder. His work was the supernova that created the visual standard for the sword and sorcery fantasy story. Fearless heroes in untamed worlds surrounded by impossible situations and ungodly creatures of the nigh. His villians were pure evil and his women were hard bodied and born wild. He sparked imagination in so many people and helped us escape, even believe in fantasy. He was one of the greatest ever. Sorry to see you go Mr. Frazetta – thank you for giving a young teenage version of myself a place a hide from reality.

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me

Timmy Danger and Punks for Presents Wrestle for Charity
