InLight Richmond is one of the city’s most prized free public exhibitions, and this year the event is heading to Monroe Park Friday 11/21 to light up the Capital City.

A project of 1708 Gallery, InLight Richmond started in 2008 as a way to celebrate 1708’s 30th Birthday. The success of the event lead to its annual return every fall. Now in its sixth year, InLight Richmond has a long history of creating unique light sculptures, art and presentations.

Check out this video of last year’s ‘Best in Show’ performance “Nonesuch Tales of Ardea Herodias” created and performed by Rachel Cohn, Laurids Sonne, and Michael Ashley:

Beyond the light installations, 1708 has held a number of lantern-making workshops throughout the fall leading up to Friday’s event. You’ll also have the chance to make a lantern on site before the parade starts. Get to Monroe Park around 6 PM to help add to the creative fun; the parade starts at 7:30 PM.
