South Korean artist Kim Jung Gi admits he’s not the biggest Star Wars fan, but his sketch work showing the iconic characters with a Samurai theme are freaking incredible.

Drawn live as part of an event at DC’s Art Whino art space, Gi visited the gallery in early October and one-shotted the impressive sketches before a live audience.

Check out a time-lapse of the work below:

Gi said he’s been armed with a sketch book and pad since he was a little boy, but it wasn’t until 2010 when he attended a Korean comic festival, Boo-Chun International, when he got noticed.

“My boss uploaded a video of me doing a live drawing in my booth for four days, and received a good reaction from it worldwide,” said Gi in an email interview with RVAMag. “Ever since then, I started to receive many projects similar to it.”

While this sketch deals specifically with Star Wars, Gi said his “visual vocabulary” has grown exponentially since he’s spent the last few years traveling the world and sketching.

“Many different architectures, cultures, and clothing [have] given me more stuff to draw,” he said.

“The piece is lacking in many ways,” said Gi who felt bad for not having better knowledge of the Star Wars universe (he said his favorite movie was Phantom Menace, but we’re not even gonna touch that). “Characters in my piece can look wrong to the eyes of avid Star Wars fans. I will be sure to study and research more before I work on such piece next time.”

I don’t know what he’s talking about, these sketches are amazing.

You can pick up the few remaining prints here.
