The Princess Bride is one of those movies that gets better every time you watch it–which is why we’ve all seen it a million times. But you’ve never seen it like this! Up-and-coming local burlesque crew Those Freaking Weirdos have prepared what they’re calling a “burlesque tribute of unusual size” to honor everyone’s childhood favorite, and it’s happening at Gottwald Playhouse at Richmond CenterStage this Saturday!

This adorably hilarious love story, full of thrills, chills, and plenty of funny lines we can all recite word for word, will be presented to the audience by Hot Todd Lincoln of DC/Baltimore-area troupe Twisted Knickers Burlesque. As the Grandfather, he’ll read the (hopefully not flu-stricken) audience members the story of The Princess Bride–or, at least, the good parts.

The actual action will be brought to life by the members of Those Freaking Weirdos–Melody Magpie, Moxie LaBouche, Dante The Inferno, and Dev L. Ish–as well as several other local burlesque superstars, including Bella La Blanc, Buster Britches, Couple O’Carneys, Kitten Khaouss, and Cherrie Canary. They’ll be presenting scenes of adventure, sword-fighting, torture, revenge, and wuv, twoo wuv, for your enjoyment. It’ll be a blast! Unless, of course, you have six fingers on your right hand. In which case, prepare to die.

REVIEW | Ducking Awesome! WitchDuck Is Smart, Sharp, and Ruthless
