Have you ever eaten pancakes out of a bag in the middle of an airplane flight? Because you just might have been broadcasted as a punchline for well over 100,000 people on and offline.

Next week, the Midnight Suggestion crew will be bringing Addison, Illinois comedian Kyle Kinane into Richmond for a night with probably one of the funniest up-and-coming comedians in the nation.

Kyle Kinane dove into the comedy world in 1999 when he randomly decided to go to a casting call he found in the newspaper. He told Splitsider in an 2013 intreview that after his first gig, he “watched for a few months before [he] even had the balls to try it.”

After several years of being involved in regular stand up shows and open-mics, he moved to L.A. in 2003, and debuted his first album, Death Of the Party, in 2010, which received critical acclaim.

In addition to Death Of the Party and his latest album, Whiskey Icarus (2012), Kinane has been featured on various TV shows, such as Last Call with Carson Daly, Conan, Comedy Central Presents, and many others.

What makes Kyle Kinane so funny is the way he incorporates extreme detail into his stories. The vivid and somewhat uncomfortable imagery that he plants in your head while explaining how he “realizes” his loneliness is just too hilarious to ignore.

Local comedians Jesse Jarvis and Steve Howze will be opening the show.

Kyle Kinane will be at Strange Matter on Monday, April 14, from 9pm to 12am. Tickets are $14 in advance and $16 at the door. The show is 18+.
