Few artists in Richmond’s hip-hop scene have made as much noise in recent years as Chandler Matkins. From viral moments to sold-out shows, his rise has been marked by constant evolution and increasing recognition. His recent Going Away Show at The Broadberry was a showcase of homegrown talent, featuring performances from Lunch $pecial, O-Z, TMA, Kaay Taurus, Zuri, REIN, and DJ sets by TuffLuckKid and Fellaair. With a packed house of 350 fans, the event underscored his strong local following and the anticipation for what’s next.
Photographer CJ Payne was on hand to capture the night, which felt less like a farewell and more like a celebration of Chandler’s journey so far.
