Born and raised in Pittsburgh, DJ Zimmie was brought up on an eclectic mix of classic rock, metal, jazz and hip hop. As he matured, his tastes expanded and he explored musical instruments and turntables. After living in several major cities around the country including Philadelphia, NYC, Portland and Los Angeles, Zimmie returned to Pittsburgh to make his mark. In a short time, DJ Zimmie had quickly built a reputation as a first class party rocker. His vast musical knowledge, eclectic song selection and creative mixes made him a staple in the nightlife scene of Pittsburgh. For years he has consistently maintained a full schedule of residencies in Pittsburgh and surrounding markets.

His skill and professionalism have made him the DJ choice of companies such as SCION, Puma and Red Bull as well the top choice for local hi-profile events, corporate functions and even parties for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. He’s shared the stage with legends such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ AM, DJ Premier, Z-Trip & De La Soul in cities from NYC to LA to Vegas and has become a fast-rising talent nationally.
