The Art of War (literally)

From English Russia (click for hi-rez): “Ever wondered how do the battle looks like for real at night? I mean, not as seen by Hollywood movie but a real battle with real combat units, tanks and commanders? People say that sometimes it is even more picturesque than in the movies, and here is the report from the Russian army playwar maneuveres that took place recently.”

I think these images are beautiful. The landscapes are haunting, with the glow of battle illuminating the ground and night sky. The landscapes look tiny at first glance, until you see the breadth of the trees, tanks, and rolling hills. The flash and smoke from cannons & other ordinance creates a misty, eerie effect not unlike a breaking dawn. I believe that Pesochinsky might be the photographer, but my Russian is terrible.
