Richmond’s Halloween! Vampires, Batman, and A Girl Dressed as a Hot Dog

by | Nov 1, 2024 | COMMUNITY, CULTURE, DOWNTOWN RVA, HALLOWEEK, NIGHTLIFE, PHOTOGRAPHY, POP CULTURE

Ah, Richmond on Halloween—there’s a spectacle for you. Thousands of folks dressed up, stumbling around downtown, some of ‘em probably already looking scarier than the costumes they’re wearing. So we hit the streets, grabbed a few shots to prove it actually happened, you know, just in case anyone remembers Halloween differently the next day.

To start off the night we hit up Penny Lane then rolled up just in time to see the tail end of the Halloween Parade in Oregon Hill—kind of like catching the grand finale of organized chaos. Got to Get Tight Lounge for a band, because nothing says Halloween like live music and a crowd of sweaty ghouls. Then swung by The Camel, where a cover band was doing their thing, keeping the ghost of rock and roll alive. Finished off at Fuzzy Cactus, ‘cause what’s a night out in Richmond without one last round?

So cheers, Richmond—another Halloween done, another year added to the weird, wonderful scrapbook. And remember: all these moments, captured for your viewing pleasure by R. Anthony Harris and CJ Payne.
