Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

We’ve got new beer releases, two anniversaries, special events and more so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

Tonight, Strangeways is hosting their last Yappy Hour of the year to benefit Richmond Animal Care and Control so if you haven’t taken your furry friend over there and grabbed a beer yet, tonight is your last chance! As always, there will be adoptable dogs, beer specials, dog treats and food trucks.

Friday kicks off Halloweek with RVA Mag and Strangeways! We have seven days packed full of spooky and wickedly cool events and the brewery will help celebrate with its Brews & Blacklist Burlesque featuring Moxie LaBouche, Dante the Inferno and more! Tickets are $9 in advance, $12 at the door.

Isley Brewing will release their weekly infusion this Friday, this time its a Coffee Mild Ale.

The bigger news, however, is Isley’s anniversary! They are celebrating turning three in a major way this Saturday, Oct. 22. The party starts at noon and will last all day long. Participate in a Zombie Walk hosted by Black Dog Events that starts at Isley and ends back at Isley. The Scott’s Addition brewery will have a full day of music featuring South Hill Banks and Chris Buerkley! Special infusions for the Zombie Walk include a Blood Orange Porter & Green Slime Lime Plain Jane! Food Trucks for the day are The Return of the Mac and BoDillaz! Enjoy brews from the beer truck out back!

Saturday also marks the 5th anniversary for Hardywood and boy do they have some treats in store for us! Offering for the first time, the backbone of Trickery, Foolery & Ruse: Hardywood Cassowary: An 11% imperial milk stout presenting a balanced aroma of chocolate truffle and dark fruits followed by leather, toffee and almond. In celebration of 5 years of collaboration, many local breweries will have their brews featured as well including Ardent Craft Ales, Center of the Universe, Isley and more! Enjoy event-exclusive beers, a line up of fantastic mobile food trucks and a special anniversary show with Black Masala, Super Yamba Band, Gull and Dave Watkins.

Hardywood is also once again, playing a major role in RVA Mag’s HALLOWEEK, 10 tens day of events, parties and spookiness so check this page out for all the details on events with the brewery as well as other events going on.

On Saturday, Triple Crossing will have its Double Falcon DIPA crowler release.

On Saturday and Sunday, Chesterfield brewery Steam Bell Beer Works will release Washington’s Vice, a 9% milk stout brewed with orange peel, nutmeg, whole vanilla beans and cinnamon.

Garden Grove Brewing Company will release the newest collaboration-“Capital Stout,” with Capital Ale House this Friday. This rich, roasty stout was crafted to be reminiscent of a dark chocolate bar naturally flavored with orange peel. Capital Ale House Midlothian will release it on Oct 22.

Ardent Craft Ales will host an Apples For Schools event this Sunday.

Building a Better RPS will be at the brewery with “Raise a Pint” glassware, caramel apples, and other treats, all to benefit RPS. Los Gauchos will also be on deck serving up delicious food. This event is family friendly, with a special sparkling apple cider for kids by Buskey Cider.

Last weekend, Blue Bee Cider opened their new cidery in Scott’s Addition at 1320 Summit Avenue they have some special releases and a cool historic place so go check it out!
