What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts’ desire.

If you missed last week’s beer news, you can check those out here. We are kicking off Virginia Craft Beer Month and our cup is overflowing with news this week from releases, to events, and other cool happenings around town, so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

On Thursday, Hardywood will have their weekly food truck court which will from 5:30-9pm (the brewery is open until 10pm, last call 9:30). BozDillaz, King of Pops, Goatocado and more will be there check out this link for the full food lineup.

On Friday, Hardywood will release its Kiwi Lime Berliner Weisse in cans. The brew is a German-style sour wheat ale and will be available on draft and in 16oz cans from 4-10PM!No automatic alt text available.

Tonight (Wednesday), Strangeways Brewing will host a Yappy Hour to benefit Richmond Animal Care and Control. It’s FREE to attend, and they will have 30+ different beers and cider to choose from! 10% of ALL beer/cider sales on-premise AND To-Go (including their Can•ine crowlers) & ALL merchandise sales, will be donated to RACC. Dogs welcome.

After a long hiatus, the Isley classic Off the Boulevard, an Irish Red Ale will be back on tap starting this Friday. The 5% brew will also be available to go in crowlers and growlers.

Final Gravity will release One Drop this Friday, a 8% DIPA brewed with Lemondrop, Citra, and Mosaic hops.

The Enrichmond Foundation is holding a BrewBQ fundraising event this Sun. August 20 from 12-5pm at 1615 E Broad St, one block from the 17th Street Farmers Market. BrewBQ will feature 8 local BBQ joints including Alamo BBQThe Halligan Bar & Grill – Shockoe BottomInner City Blues home of Carolina Bar B QueSmok N Pigz,Firehouse Bar-B-Que, and Jadean’s Smokin’ Six O  as well as international twists on BBQ from Jamaican Cafe on Wheelz Llc and Chef Mamusu’s Africanne Restaurant. 15 Richmond breweries will each bring two beer options. Blue Bee CIder will celebrate the solar eclipse with a blind tasting on Monday. All day they will pour flights of mystery ciders from their menu and its up to YOU to tell us which ones you’ve got. Correctly identified flight notes will be entered for a raffle prize with a mystery bottle and some swag from their bottle shop.

This Friday, Steam Bell Beer Works will hos a beer dinner with Flemings Steak House. IT will be a our-course meal with Fleming’s dishes paired with Steam Bell’s craft brews. Seats are limited for this event and reservations to attend can be made by calling the restaurant directly at (804) 272-7755.

Steam Bell will also release Little Lady’s Bouquet this Saturday, a 6.2% Oat Pale Ale brewed with wildflower honey, lavender, rose hips, and hibiscus.This beer was concepted, brewed, and named by future Canon & Draw Brewing Company Brewer Matthew Shaw in conjunction with 2017 Virginia Craft Beer Month. On Thursday, Ardent Craft Ales will release its Robust Porter. The Robust Porter is dark brown in color with a full, tan head. The brew has a roasty flavor with notes of chocolate and coffee. 6% ABV. Intergalactic Tacos will be here serving out-of-this-world tacos, quesadillas, and more.

In honor of VA Craft Beer Month, Vasen Brewing Company has released a Vanilla Dubbel and a sour saison. The brewery just opened in Scott’s Addition so if you haven’t already, head out there and try some of their brews.

Fine Creek Brewing Company will have their Thai Tea Milk Stout on tap this weekend and they will also be pouring at the VA Craft Brewers Fest. They will also be releasing their Idaho 7 Pale Ale on Friday for the weekend.

It’s third Thursday at The Veil Brewing Co. this week which means a portion of a proceeds will go to a local non-profit. This week, its Maymont and from 5p-8p 15% of sale will help go toward its upkeep. Special raffle with a Veil 4-pack, Veil swag and other sponsored items. All proceeds go to Maymont. They will also have a special release of Yung Baby, a grisette ale.No automatic alt text available.

Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House is back this Thursday with a re-release of their Chocolate Silk Pie Milk Stout, a collaboration with Hilton Downtown. Collab taps at 5pm, Brewer’s Toast after 6pm and they’ve got pint specials on the 1st keg until it kicks or until 9pm.No automatic alt text available.
