Tapped: Steam Bell’s One Year Anniversary, Ardent’s Gose release, & Isley’s Limeade 5th Circle IPA

What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.

Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

So 2017 started off pretty crazy and it seems it’s just getting crazier by the day, but one thing you can count on is RVA Mag will always have the scoop on where you can go to get the finest craft beer in town! This week we have new beer releases, events, and other cool happenings around town, so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

Midnight Brewery will release its Twilight Veranda India Pale Lager on Saturday.

Strangeways will host their Cheers 4 Charity event tonight, this time proceeds going toward FeedMore. Strangeways Brewing will donate 10% of ALL SALES to our local Meals on Wheels program. You’ll also have one last chance to buy a raffle ticket to win a Strangeways Swag Bag valued at $350 and includes a FREE private event!

On Saturday, Chesterfield’s Steam Bell Beer Works celebrates one year in business. To kick off the party right, the brewery will release a new beer release/first ever bottle release of their Anniversary Ale #1, a 5.0% Brett Rye Saison fermented in white wine barrels. There will also be guest taps by Ardent Craft Ales, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Isley Brewing Company, Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House, Triple Crossing Brewing, and STRANGEWAYS BREWING. Live music by Andrew Alli and The Mainline, River City Band, and Flat Elvis. Food by River City Wood Fire Pizza and Slideways Mobile Bistro.

Ardent Craft Ales will release its Gose on Saturday. This brew is a gose with Lime—aka “You Put the Lime in the Gose and You Drink It All Up”—a collaboration with O’Connor Brewing Co.

Isley Brewing has a couple of new releases to cool you off from this heat. First up, is their This Aint Kentucky 2.0 release today.

On Friday, Isley is back with their weekly infusion, this time, its a Limeade 5th Circle IPA, perfect for summer.

The Veil Brewing Co. will have a seafood food pop-up on Sunday, June 4. Expect delicious grub from Northern Neck Oyster Co. and Chef Andrew Manning and Steve Farr. Raw Oysters and Crabs from the Chesapeake Bay. The chefs will be also be serving “Brasa” – wood and coal grilled seafood.

On Thursday, Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House returns with its weekly collaboration. This time, its a partnership with Michael Denat, who is a great supporter of the ALS Association. The two concocted “Two if by Sea”, a 6.2% New England IPA.

On Friday, Hardywood will once again release Tropication, a fruity India Pale Ale.

Center of the Universe will release its Homefront IPA, an American IPA is brewed with Cascade and Chinook hops. 00% of all proceeds from the sale of Homefront IPA will be donate to Soldier’s Angels.

Garden Grove Brewing Company has a few new releases for you this weekend. First up, The Duke IPA a 6.4% IPA crafted with El Dorado Hop Hash and El Dorado hops.

Next up, a Hefeweizen, a 4.8% German Style Hefeweizen brewed with all German Ingredients.

Finally, GG will release its Third Circle Smoked Porter, a 6.66% brew crafted with Cherry Wood Smoked Malt and Virginia grown barley malt. Fermented in red wine barrels.
