RVA’s burgeoning craft beer scene continues to thrive and people continue to flock here to test out our growing number of breweries and each of their tasty offerings. The locals already know we have a great, diverse beer culture here and more and more places are starting to give us the credit we deserve. So we can raise a glass, or two to RateBeer.com, which just recently held their Best Awards Festival and a few Richmond breweries snagged some pretty high accolades for their craft beer for 2015:

Hardywood was awarded Top Brewer, and The Answer Brewpub was named Best New Brewer. Hardywood also snagged awards for their Christmas Morning. Gingerbread Stout, and their Bourbon GBS in the spice/herb/vegetable category. Mekong won Best Restaurant, Strangeways won Best Brewer Taproom. (All for Virginia)

Other honors for Virginia breweries: Williamsburg Alewerks’ Bitter Valentine snagged Top Beer. Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton won Best Brewpub.

Check out all the winners here.
