Tapped: Lickinghole Turns 4, Ardent’s Fall American Sour Blend, & RVA Collab House turns 1

What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts’ desire.

If you missed last week’s beer news, you can check those out here. Our cup is overflowing with news this week from releases to events, and other cool happenings around town, so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

This Friday and Saturday, Lickinghole Creek in Goochland will celebrate turning 4 with a party on the farm. “Tremendous Machine”, a 12.6% Virginian Imperial Stout will be the release this weekend.

Thursday through Sunday Fine Creek Brewing Co. in Powhatan will have their ‘Steal the Stein’ deal. They also got a crowler machine! So they will be doing crowler fills of anything all weekend. The brewery will release its Oktoberfest beer and Grodziskie, a light oak smoked wheat beer, both available Thursday through Sunday. On Saturday, they will do another Cask release of the Thai Tea Milk Stout, but with Coffee beans.  Image may contain: drink

This Thursday, Ardent Craft Ales will release its Fall American Sour Blend, made from sour blonde and sour red ales, aged independently in oak barrels for ten months, then blended together. Grab a brew and pair it with some grub from Intergalatic Tacos!

Three Notch’d Brewing Company’s RVA Collab House has been serving up brews here for one year and this weekend the brewery is celebrating in a major way. On Saturday, the brewery will have live music, beer collabs, food, and more. The big announcement is their upcoming collaboration with Ardent Craft Ales! The two will release a DIPA during the celebration. RVA Collab Houss will also bring back some collab favorites: Bourbon Barrel-Aged Biggie S’Mores imperial Stout, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Route 33 Imperial Porter, Passion For A Cure Passion Fruit and Mango Gose and Frisbeer Raspberry Gose and more!

On Thursday, join Midnight Brewery for the Final Quarterly Happy Hour of 2017. Two hours of Networking for a Cause. Pawssible will be there to explain their non profit organization.

Hardywood will have the Pre-release Happy Hour: Rum Barrel Pumpkin at VMFA Best Cafe this Friday. Best Cafe will have 750mL bottles of Rum Barrel Pumpkin available as a part of their happy hour specials for the evening, as well as Hardywood Singel, Pils and VIPA to pair with Hardywood-inspired menu options. We hope to see you there!

On Saturday, Center of the Universe will host Coffee Fest featuring the Percolator Coffee Brown Ale Release.Southern English Style Brown Ale has been infused with cold-pressed Lamplighter Coffee. Coffee Shop Variants will be available for flights only. Check out any of the following variants offered: BACON, TIRAMISU, PISTACHIO, PUMPKIN SPICE, MOLE, TART CHERRY and IRISH COFFEE.

The Veil Brewing Co. is going pop-up crazy this weekend with a burger pop-up Thursday, a Kung Foo BBQ pop-up Saturday, and seafood one on Sunday.

Its International Coffee Day Sunday and Buskey Cider is celebrating with a collaboration with Lamplighter Roasting Company and a pop-up! Nate’s Bagels will be there offering their FIRST EVER gluten-free bagels at the event!!! All day Buskey Cider will be serving the Nitro cider collab, made with their Ethiopia Cold Brew and served on nitrogen for a creamy taste. Image may contain: text
