Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

We’ve got new releases, and other cool events going on so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

Garden Grove Brewing Company will have its first ever bottle release at noon Saturday, July 23rd at their Carytown taproom. “DEATH” is a 10% ABV unfiltered Belgian Style Ale made with VA-grown red wine grapes from the 2014 harvest, and aged over one year in red wine barrels. 150 bottles will be released first-come first-served with a limit of 2 bottles/person. “DEATH” is bottled in 500ml (16.9 fl oz) format, and will sell for $11.99/bottle.

Center of the Universe will host its 4th annual Summer Moon Music Festival Friday, July 22 and SAt. July 23rd. This two day long festival features 12 local bands who will be battling it out for their charity of choice. To accompany the bands, there will be several food trucks on site along with Anderson Neck Oyster Company hand shucking and selling fresh locally raised oysters and 3 different draft beer stations.

The Ashland brewery is also having a Pokemon battle tonight (Wednesday) at 6 pm. All Pokémon “trainers” are invtied out to Center of the Universe Brewing Company for a Pokéwalk and Battle. Grab a raffle ticket for each beer purchased to compete for the grand raffle prize (must show your app to participate).

Steam Bell Beer Works in Chesterfield has a few cool events going on. On Thursday, the brewery will present the first beer from their Randall Series: Liege. The brew will be enhanced with blueberries and cinnamon.

The brewery will also release their summer seasonal, Buckland, on Saturday. Buckland is a 6.4% peach ale brewed with Copper Fox Distillery’s peach wood smoked malt. It is then fermented with 200 pounds of hand cut, fresh peaches from a century farm in Crozet, Virginia and has a refreshing taste, perfect for summertime

On Saturday, Triple Crossing will present their Nectar and Knie DIPA Crowler and Draft release. Nectar and Knife is their flagship DIPA brewed with Mosaic and Simcoe hops.

Isley Brewing has two new brews coming for your tastebuds this weekend. On Saturday, they will release a bourbon barrel ginger golden ale, dubbed the Evil Barrel. This one has strong whiskey flavors which blend with the ginger to resemble a bourbon and ginger cocktail.

On Sunday, Isley will release Lemon Lust, a 6.8% Lemon IPA that features lemon peel and is bitter, refreshing and citrusy.

Lickinghole Creek in Goochland will release Batchelor’s Delight and host a Pirate Party this Saturday, July 23. Batchelor’s Delight is a rum barrel aged belgian quad and it’s the base beer for Coconut Delight. As per Pirate Party tradition, everyone is encouraged to dress as a pirate. They will have a contest for the best dressed pirate. This activity is for adults and children. The brewery will also host a mythical Pirate Water Balloon Battle. 12-9 pm.

As part of their ongoing Brewer Artist series, Hardywood will release Union Break, a Belgian witbier concocted by their very own packaging team which is crisp and floral. Live music starts at 5 pm.
