What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.

Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

Now I know it’s April, but apparently we’ve traveled back to winter the last few days? Hopefully these delicious brews will lift your spirits! Now hold on to your cups because we’re about to tap this thing.

Rappahannock River Oysters are coming to Lickinghole Creek this Friday April 8th. Get their delicious VA oysters and some craft beer from 5 to 9 pm.

Hardywood will release two beers on Saturday April 9th, the Capital Trail Pale Ale and the return of the Hardywood Berliner Weisse. The Capital Trail brew is a dry-hopped American-style pale ale with citrusy aromas and is dedicated to the hard work of the volunteers and supporters of the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation. The Berliner Weisse is a German-style sour beer that’s bright, dry, and refreshing/

The brewery’s Food Truck Court opens will kick off this Thursday with 16 new and favorite gourmet mobile food vendors. Expect different kinds of tacos, wood-fired pizza, authentic French crepes, handmade ice cream, Cajun street food along with craft beer of course.

Ardent Craft Ales has partnered with Ellwood Thompson’s and is now carrying some of their delicious wraps and other foods. Check it out.

Triple Crossing is turning two this weekend and plans to celebrate their anniversary with a few beer releases including the 2nd Anniversary Ale, Saison Brett bottles with three separate versions. They will also release Nectar and Knife in crowlers, and Bourbon Barrel Night Lands Imperial Stout along with live music and food. Head down one day this weekend to help them celebrate!

The brewery is also canning 10 of their beers. Check out what you can get in a crowler below:

Garden Grove will release a pretty cool collaboration brew with The Builder’s Council, Richmond Habitat’s Young Professional Board – the Build A House Saison on Thursday. Grab and network with some young professionals. Also, 10% of proceeds from that evening will be donated to Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity.

Stone Brewing has released its Arrogant Bastard Ale in cans so go down to the Rockets Landing brewery and give that a try.

Strangeways Brewing will release its Mystic Man Legalize It IPA on Saturday. This is the latest in their Legalize It Series releases. Kulture will be on site with some goodies and Dank Eats will be serving up munchies. Don’t pass this up! 🙂

And forgive me for missing this last weekend, but Center of the Universe in Ashland released Black Dawn, a black IPA that’s perfect for spring.
