What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?!

What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.

Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

Ardent Craft Ales will host its 2nd Annual Swine and Brine Festival on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. Local restaurants The Roosevelt, Metzger Bar & Butchery, ZZQ, Saison, Sabai, and Amuse will be serving up a killer line-up of pork dishes and their own homemade sides. Plus, Rappahannock Oyster Co. will be joining the festivities with steamed and roasted oysters. Tickets are $20 per person and include three tickets redeemable for food or beer, as well as a limited edition Ardent Craft Ales bandanna. Additional tickets will be available for purchase at the event for $5 each.

Midnight Brewery will release its collaboration beer with Stone Brewing RVA Fiesta, this Saturday. RVA Fiesta is a RED Rye Chipotle IPA and you and read more about the beer and collaboration in our interview with Midnight Brewery owner Trae Cairns here.

Isley Brewing will be pouring their Plain Jane Belgian White Ale & Choosy Mother Peanut Butter Porter at The Seven Hills of Richmond Grapes & Grain Gala, a fundraising event for Seven Hills School this Saturday at the VMFA. There will be a four course beer and wine pairing dinner and auction that night as well.

The regular Hardywood food truck court is back again this Thursday at the brewery so be sure to check that out if you looking to try a bunch of different foods all in one place while sipping some brews. The brewery will also release Tropication, a hoppy brew bursting with citrus fruits on Saturday.

Yappy Hour is back at Strangeways Brewing tonight! Meet some pups from Ashland animal shelter, BARK and bring your own pooch while you sip on brews and grab some grub from Stuffed Bunz RVA.

The brewery will also release two sour beers on Saturday, April 23th, O.T.I.S. Cucumber Melon Sour with Tart Cherries and O.T.I.S. Cucumber Melon Sour with Bartlett and Bosc Pears. This release is draft-only.

The Veil Brewing Co. just opened last weekend and they’re wasting no time getting into the beer game. They just released cans of Master Shredder(their flagship wheat IPA) and Crucial Taunt(their flagship double IPA). Go pick up some of those in their tasting room and check out the other brews this Scott’s Addition brewery has to offer.

Last weekend, Carytown brewery Garden Grove released “Glazed and Confused,an imperial coffee donut milk stout. They partnered up with Sugar Shack Donuts and Rostov’s Coffee to make the brew. Six dozen Sugar Shack Donuts and nine pounds of Rostov’s Coffee helped make this perfect weekend morning brew. YUM!
