What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.

Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans you missed last week. Oh and it is Easter weekend so we can celebrate my going on a hunt for eggs and beer right?

Now the Irish celebrations may have wrapped up, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still drink like them! Now hold to your cups because we’re about to tap this thing.

This Saturday, Hardywood will release its Bourbon Barrel Raspberry Stout. expect to taste loads of chocolate malt, cocoa nibs and local red raspberries from Agriberry Farm. Think of a raspberry truffle, but in liquid form. Available on draft and in 750ml bottles.

Garden Grove Brewing has some pretty cool beers news! The Carytown brewery can’t resist blurring the lines between beer and wine! They have two new releases this weekend including Sunkiss Sparker which is crafted with fresh clover and alfalfa honey and loads of citrus fruits. They’re also releasing the second edition of Death! This batch of “2015 Vintage” Death was fermented with Cabernet Franc grapes from Naked Mountain Vineyard in Markham, VA and aged in an American Oak Chardonnay barrel for 4 months prior to release.

Lickinghole Creek will release its Nuclear Nugget this Saturday. This Imperial Honey IPA is made with Virginia honey from Bubba’s Sweet Nectar and contains a variety of hops including Magnum, Centennial and Nugget. They will also host an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids…or kids at heart.

Strangeways will release its Martin Spring BIERE DE MARS. It seems its also a David Bowie theme. Life on Mars, a David Bowie tribute band will be performing.

Midnight Brewery will release a new brew this Saturday, Lemongrass Saison so go check that out.

On Sunday, Ardent Craft Ales will host an Easter Beer Brunch at 12 pm. Food from River City Wood Fired Pizza, Texas Beach Bloody Marys and apparently there will be candy!

Triple Crossing looks to be brewing up a collaboration beer with O’Connor Brewing. Stay tuned for details on that!

The brewery will also release its Double Falcon IPA on Saturday. Get ready for some serious hops!

Isley Brewing will release its new brew Ales Gone Mild this Saturday. The mild brew is easy drinking and Tthe grain bill is based off of an English Mild, with toasty Golden Promise and Crystal Malts. Food from Bo Dillaz and mobile fashion truck Love This will be there!

Not beer news, but still pretty cool. Hutch Bar and Eatery on Gaskins Road will host a South American Wine Dinner on Thursday March 24th. Featured will be four courses and five wines for $50.
