What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?!

What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.

Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

The big news this week is a new brewery and an anniversary.

Legend’s will celebrate 22 years this Saturday. There will be live music, food and of course beer. Tickets are $25 and each ticket comes with 3 drink/food tickets, good for a beer or some grub. They will bring back their summer seasonal Z Dam. Ale 2 to 9 pm. You can check out our interview with Legend’s Vice President of Operations Dave Gott here.


The Veil Brewing Co
. will finally open in Scott’s Addition this Saturday April 16th. The Veil will focus on hop-forward ales, high gravity barrel aging, and spontaneous fermentation. At the grand opening,the brewery will have limited edition merchandise, cans to go, amazing food from ZZQ, Stroops, Boka Takos, and more. 11 am-11 pm. 1301 Roseneath Road.

Ardent Craft Ales will release its New England IPA on Saturday, their “hoppiest, juiciest IPA” to date.

Isley Brewing will release a new Friday Infusion: Thai Basil Plain Jane on April 15th. Basil Lime has been infused into their Plain Jane Belgian White Ale for this brew.

Strangeways Brewing will release “O.T.I.S.” a Cucumber Melon Sour brew on Saturday. Fresh cucumbers, ripe honeydew melons, wild juniper berries, and hand-zested tangerines were all fused together to make this sour beer so go give that a try this weekend.

The brewery will also host its annual Bark and Brew Festival on Sunday April 17th. Bring your family and pups to drink beer and help raise money for Bandit’s Adoption and Rescue of K-9s (BARK), an animal shelter in Ashland. There will be dog-centric vendors, live music, prizes, contests, pet blessings, adoptable dogs, food trucks and more. Tickets are $5.

Hardywood will host this year’s Spring Bada Bing, an indie annual craft show hosted by the Richmond Craft Mafia. Sip a craft beer and shop over 40 vendors, featuring wide variety of work in categories such as clothing, accessories, plush toys, jewelry, pottery, bath and body products.

Garden Grove with host a beer dinner this Monday the 18th featuring Southbound restaurant. The dinner will showcase five courses of fresh, local & southern inspired cuisine matched with five artisan brews. There’s only 8 seats left so hurry and get yours! Tickets are $38.
