Summer 2015

by | Aug 13, 2015

The days are getting longer, the sun is warming up the RVA streets, and summer is fast approaching! And all the while, RVA Magazine’s ten year anniversary rolls on, with our Summer 2015 issue heading your way just in time for the July 4th holiday! We’ve got yet another great 10 year anniversary section, this time bringing you a look back at the past decade of Richmond’s cultural highlights through the unique lens RVA Magazine has always provided. And speaking of local cultural highlights, the Richmond Mural Project is gearing up for its fourth year of local beautification through street art, so we’ll be speaking to English street/skate artist D*Face on the occasion of his arrival in RVA.

We’ve also got plenty of the locally-focused coverage of music that you always look to RVA Magazine for. This time around we’ll be speaking to rockers Sea Of Storms, rapper Dr. Millionaire, and funk-punks Toxic Moxie. We also investigate the happenings with a collective of Manchester-based street poets called The Top, and find out the story behind Girls Rock RVA. Plus, we’ve got a fascinating overview of the past, present, and future of the Richmond area pro wrestling scene, and of course lots more! It’s all coming your way in RVA Magazine’s Summer 2015 issue–don’t miss it!

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me
