Tonight at The Camel is a show you’ll be hearing about all summer. I first encountered The Fox Hunt on a small farm in Three Churches, West Virginia. They were playing my friend Jenny Beth’s birthday party on the front porch of her Grandmother’s farmhouse, and they blew my mind (note: Dessie, JB’s grandmother, is one of the most gracious and wonderful hosts I have ever have had the privilege of being entertained by; Chirimba Farm is a slice of heaven in West Virginia). You can read our interview with The Fox Hunt and find out their favorite whiskeys in an interview by S. Preston Duncan here. They play an absolutely true style of backwoods roots music; in their tunes you can hear bluegrass, folk, Appalachian roots, moonshine and rock.

Headlining the show are venerable RVA natives Jackass Flats. The last time they played with The Fox Hunt, the show sold out. If you’ve never heard Jackass Flats, you’re in for a true treat tonight; their style of fast-paced, whimsical, and incredibly well picked bluegrass is some of Richmond’s finest. At seven dollars, is this a show you can really afford to miss?
