Dark Dark Dark
Bright Bright Bright EP
Supply and Demand Music
Editor’s note: Dark Dark Dark is playing tomorrow night at CousCous, where I’ve attended a few of the best damn shows I’ve seen all year.
Dark Dark Dark is a band that finds comfort in the melancholic beauty that surrounds us all. It makes perfect sense that for this EP, they decided to record it all live in a former church with organic temperaments of natural reverb laced throughout. Dark Dark Dark’s sound oozes with layers of piano, accordion, traditional horn and orchestral instruments and percussion that help illustrate the glistening pastoral environments that despite their attempts never quite escape the stark glimpses of gray.

Each song is a journey for it’s listener and your guides are Nona Marie Invie and Marshall LaCount. Each vignette that passes proves to be as captivating or as enthralling as the last. What you come to realize though is that every composition on this release is a splendid reminder of what it’s like to feel human and share that with everyone around you.
