Photos: Mix and Meet at Manchester Gallery

Mix And Meet is an event created by recording artist Money Makin Campaign, his producer, The Few, and business partner Adolphus Ingram. It’s an industry mixer open to the public, and to any genre of music and arts.

Richmond artist Campaign had done some touring with AddVentures Music, a company that provides production and promotion help in somewhat of a managerial capacity. His performances in other major cities led him to the realization that Richmond has nothing to be proud of–no professional sports team, no big record label, nothing to call our own. What’s more, there wasn’t anyone working to bridge the gap between street level artists and the major media they all want to reach. What this town needed was someone to connect the dots.

Campaign sat down with Few and Ingram to figure out a way to solve this problem. They came up with the idea for the Mix And Meet program, which would produce monthly industry mixers and scout the city’s independent talent. This is all part of a major plan they have yet to share, but they’ve hinted at giving Virginia something to be proud of–their own official hub.

The latest Mix And Meet event had a bunch of dope artists come through and share their talents with city, including female artist Lacree, from the 757, and Troubled Empire, a group from Virginia State University.
