Holy hell, Com Truise is coming to the National (along with STRFKR) and we are too excited

Oh man… oh man… oh man… oh god, guys, seriously, guys… seriously.

Oh man… oh man… oh man… oh god, guys, seriously, guys… seriously.

One of the best electronic artists on the scene today is coming to the National, and so is STRFKR, but whatever – COM EFFING TRUISE IS COMING TO THE NATIONAL, GUYS!#!@!

Com Truise, AKA Seth Haley, (yes it’s a play on Tom Cruise) has lead the field when it comes to bizarre, retro-electro, creating some incredible beats that are both dancey and trippy as hell. We stumbled upon this guy some time ago after we googled “Ferrari,” “cocaine,” and “music” and sure enough Com Truise hasn’t left our playlist yet.

Check out one of his more recent tracks, “Forgive,” below:

Oh man, there’s so so much much more. Here’s one his classics from 2011, “VHS Sex”

It’s hard for me to fully explain why I dig this so much except by saying Com Truise is the kind of music I like to party to. In every since of the word.

He’s given a few rare interviews (We’re hoping to change that) but otherwise the New Jersey Native is pretty under the radar.

He’s self taught, and has a background in graphic design (hence the visuals with his tunes). He told Exclaim back in 2011 that he gets lumped in with 80’s sounding DJ’s more often then not, but he’s really more into funk, Italo disco and hip-hop in general. “I’ll think, “I really like that sound, but how can I own it and how can I keep that nostalgic quality that it holds?”

Sure enough, that nostalgia has created an impressive following with millions of youtube listens, 180K followers on SoundCloud, and a number of high quality remixes with big name musicians (the Neon Indian remixes below are incredibly dope!):

Com Truise will actually be opening for STRFKR along side Fake Drugs on May 14th at the National – tickets aren’t on sale yet, but we’ll let you all know when they are up for purchase.
