While music fans across the country are still gushing over the line-ups for Coachella and Bonnaroo this year, Virginians can rejoice as a new music festival has just been announced. LAVA Music Festival will hold its inaugural event on May 16th at the Suffolk Executive Airport in Suffolk, Virginia for a one day show featuring ten bands.

LAVA’s producer Justin Billcheck hopes LAVA will become “an annual staple in the Virginia music scene,” and has raised the stakes with ten great bands that music fans will instantly recognize. With celebrated acts like Cloud Nothings and of Montreal and Richmond favorites such as Fitz & The Tantrums and Kishi Bashi, this line-up is definitely a perfect way for LAVA to make a big impact their first year.

In addition to the ten bands and ten hours of live music, LAVA will also feature a “Lava Lounge” made up of a bar and “retro arcade” as well as plenty of local vendors for food, craft beer, wine, and cider.
