Cut The Cord Radio has an amazing treat for us this week! The local Richmond podcast recently sat down with GWAR‘s original Beefcake, Mike Bishop, to get all the details about what GWAR’s been up to in the wake of the tragic loss of Dave Brockie.

Cut The Cord Radio has an amazing treat for us this week! The local Richmond podcast recently sat down with GWAR‘s original Beefcake, Mike Bishop, to get all the details about what GWAR’s been up to in the wake of the tragic loss of Dave Brockie. By now, everyone knows that Bishop will be returning to the GWAR lineup to perform as the band’s lead vocalist for their set at the GWAR-B-Q, but in this interview, Bishop explains exactly how that arrangement came to be, as well as providing some details about what the band has in store for us on August 16.

The conversation, which lasts for over an hour, goes on to encompass the details of Bishop’s post-GWAR band, the math-rock trio Kepone, which released three great albums in the 90s and is active once again, having reformed several years ago. He provides some info about his main current project, Charlottesville’s Sarah White And The Pearls, which is a bit different from his previous projects. And of course, Cut The Cord gets the scoop on what it was like being in GWAR back in the day, before the Slave Pit had become the venerable RVA institution that it is now.
