Plague Soundtracks: Weekend Playlist By RVA Magazine

by | Mar 20, 2020 | MUSIC

Every Friday night, RVA Mag brings you a playlist curated by Virginia’s most influential artists, musicians, and institutions.

And this week, we definitely had a plan to bring you a playlist from a rad artist who was coming through town to perform for us in the coming days. But then, COVID-19 happened, and made live music a thing of the past, at least for a while.

So instead of tantalizing you with the sweet sounds put together by a band you can’t actually go see this weekend, we decided instead to throw together a playlist of our own — one spanning a wide variety of genres with the goal of soundtracking the interesting times (in the ancient-curse sense) we’re all living through. We suggest listening to this while reading Stephen King’s The Stand on your e-reader. We’ve got everything in store for you, from dance-pop and classic rock to free jazz and death metal, and all of it is totally appropriate for these times.

Don’t fear the reaper, Virginia.
