Flipturn in Richmond! From Waffle House to Brown’s Island

by | Dec 6, 2024 | DOWNTOWN RVA, NIGHTLIFE, ROCK & INDIE

Before hitting the stage on Brown’s Island in Richmond, VA, Flipturn sat down with RVA Mag to share a slice of their world. They riffed on their love for Waffle House—a staple of late-night Americana—and the raw, reflective process of writing their second album ‘Burnout Days’ which will be out January 24th via Dualtone Records.

Holed up in a cabin in North Carolina, they churned out songs fueled by life’s messiness and a shared passion for their craft. Burnt out? Not a chance. They’re unapologetically proud of every track, with none left behind.

Throw in a stop at a local Richmond spot, courtesy of their lighting director Ethan, and you’ve got a band that knows how to savor the ride—onstage, on the road, and over a plate of smothered hashbrowns.
