There are many great festivals throughout the year it’s hard to decide which one to attend. Most offer something that they’re known for like a good location or a huge, diverse lineup like Bonnaroo or wild attractions like Coachella, but not many have all of those rolled into one.

Enter Pink Moon Festival in Rock Camp, West Virginia. It’s a four-night camping, music, arts and healing festival in rural Monroe County dedicated to providing quality music and experiences that produce life-long memories in the beautiful mountains. And the best part? Richmond bands are flocking to the festival, now in seventh year and kicks off Thursday September 17 at Flint Rock Hollow Farm.

This year, The Shack Band, The Southern Belles, Dalton Dash, Toxic Moxie, Imaginary Sons, BANDREW, Faceship, Venus Guytrap, Suneater, Night Idea, The Deems, and Goldrush are the Richmond bands among the lineup for this year’s fest which will feature over 80 rock, funk, world blues and reggae acts in the region.

“Pink Moon has had a special bond with RVA for many years. Perhaps because of Richmond’s wild and wonderful spirit, or maybe simply because RVA bands produce incredible tunes – who knows! But it’s undeniable that the Pink Moon Family is strong in RVA,” said co-founder of Pink Moon Jessica Abramson.

Jessica Abramson and her husband Seth Abramson, property owners and festival organizers of Pink Moon, are some of the greatest, kindest people in the industry. The Abramsons opened their arms and their hearts in 2009 to throw one of the greatest festivals in the area. The founders started Pink Moon in honor of Seth’s late mother Pinky Testerman, who passed away in 2006.

“A life time music lover, party animal, and unique pillar of the Rock Camp Community…Pinky wished to be celebrated. Pinky wanted everyone to have fun. And so, we throw the best party we know how to throw!” according to the Facebook page.

The Shack Band will be playing for their 5th consecutive time at Pink Moon. In 2012, at Pink Moon 4, they rescued a momentous wedding by providing sound for the festival when the production company handling the fest bailed!

The Southern Belles will also be enjoying the spotlight with their 4th consecutive time at Pink Moon playing a myriad of southern rock and roll with a psychedelic twist.

Glam Punk rockers Toxic Moxie is going to be showcasing their new album ‘Episode VI’ with two sets. This is their 2nd consecutive time at the festival. Check out our article on them here.

Pink Moon has also booked more Richmond talent in the form of Keith Yetter, Liam McGenity, and Samantha Pearl through Chanelle Vigue of Radio Rubber Room, a self-described “sketch comedy, live RVA music Podcast out of Richmond VA.”

With so many features from our city, one might think you can’t fit anymore Richmond into a West Virginia festival, well, Pink Moon is here to prove us wrong! Local RVA artists Nicholas Daily and Bryan Bailey are going to be spreading their creative genius with inspirational paintings and beautiful works of art.

There have been Pink Moon showcases at The Camel, Strange Matter, OUR House, The Broadberry, Gene Pool, Collective Sound of Music Recording Studio and many more.

That’s not to leave out or discount the other amazing acts from other areas that will be there such as The Kings of Belmont, Happy Daze, DJ Rahbee, Bats Dynamic String Band and others. See the full lineup here.

Besides bands on multiple stages, the festival will feature live painting from a number of different artists will be going on throughout the festival. Art is a major part of the festival and can be seen in many forms and mediums from body painting to multimedia to murals. Check out their work here.

Pink Moon will also feature a Giant Glowing Dragon Puppet Rodeo “Glo-deo!”, Puff T. Magic-Dragon and his friends Dr. Molly and Sid Glo, which have toured music festivals all over the East Coast.

The festival will also include “Shangri-La Village”, located under the 300-year-old oak trees in the park, where vendors, first aid, Pink Moon merchandise, a black light mini golf course and a DJ Stage can be found.

With such a deep connection to the land and it’s history, there is a large amount of respect and quality that goes into the preparation of each event. From easy to access car parking locations, special camping for dogs and their owners, and incredible stages for performers, Pink Moon does it right.

With an unbelievable lineup this year, Pink Moon 7 is looking to be one of 2015’s events of the year

The 7th annual Pink Moon music, arts and healing festival will be held September 17-21, 2015 on Flint Rock Hollow Farm in Rock Camp WV.

Tickets are $75 for regular camping, $50 for car camping and $150 for VIP. Grab yours here.
