Nothing stops the psychedelic funk rangers in Of Montreal, and the irrepressible Athens, GA outfit is back on tour once again, in support of their 12th album, 2013’s Lousy With Sylvianbriar. They’ll be swinging through Charlottesville on Thursday, October 2, and you could win free tickets to see these guys in action! Of Montreal has established an eclectic sound over their nearly 20 years as a band, moving from acid-damaged 60s-evoking psych jams to some severely spaced-out funk that might even make Prince jealous. On their latest album, the band is back in the 60s-retro groove, and fans of The Brian Jonestown Massacre or The Beatles circa 1968 will certainly dig Lousy With Sylvianbriar’s first single, “Fugitive Air.” Before you watch the following video, though, we should warn you that there is some casual nudity happening at a few different points, so you should probably not fire it up at work.

Anyway, pretty rad, right? Of Montreal’s leader, Kevin Barnes, has been known to get pretty crazy live, and it’s definitely included nudity at times. It’ll sure add some spice to your Thursday night if anything like that goes down during next week’s performance, and even if it doesn’t, you can expect some great psych-funk jams from Of Montreal. Get stoked!
