VOTING IS NOW CLOSED!
Results will be announced by December 16th, 2022.
Thank you for playing!

We have never been the sort of publications to bombard you with polls year after year… but let’s face it, every now and then a heat check is in order. After a global pandemic — Richmond’s entire culture has undergone a big change and with this reader’s poll, we are hoping you can all shed some light on where things stand today. And so, welcome to the RVAMAG & GayRVA Reader’s Poll 2022!

ed. note: You might not normally do polls or surveys. You might feel like this is just another popularity contest. We get that. However, from our end, seeing what you have to say helps us get better at bringing you stories and content that you want to see in our pages. What’s more, getting a good cross section of answers from all segments of the community just helps everyone figure out what’s happening in town. You’ll be able to fill out the poll in three to five minutes, so don’t feel like it’s a lot of pressure. Answer what you want, fill in the “other” blanks to let us know about stuff we missed, and skip any you’ve got no opinion about. Thank you!

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me

Richmond’s Next Mayor? Get to Know Harrison Roday

It’s raining fucking buckets. It’s cold, 4pm, and I want to go home. But I’m about to do that weird half-run, scrunched-shoulders thing into Blanchard's Coffee Shop on Broad street to meet Harrison Roday, candidate for Mayor. They’re gonna close soon too. He’s a new...

Kids of the Black Hole

We stepped down the cobblestone steps, our backs to that gothic tower of bricks seeing us off into a damp night. Jesse’s face was blue as he stared down into his phone and said: C’mon, I think it’s this way. It’s west? I asked.  No, it’s in this direct—I mean...

Let me start by saying that it was a smart move to remove me from the Trump event at the Greater Richmond Convention Center before the former President spoke on Saturday. It was NOT a wise move to grant me press credentials in the first place. After over two hours...
