2-Step Tinder: Hardcore Bros Looking For Love in Richmond

by | Apr 26, 2018 | WTF?!

Every spring for a few magical days, Richmond’s women are blessed by the Tinder gods with a flood of new matches.

Hardcore bros from across the nation descend upon the city for United Blood, an annual hardcore music fest hosted by the Canal Club that draws hundreds to Shockoe Bottom for a weekend of touring artists and Richmond groups like Count Me Out, Break Away and Nosebleed.

The genre is well-embedded in local culture – a staple of the music scene that put Richmond on the national map. United Blood brings the nation to Richmond, and the nation brings its libido.

It’s no secret to local women that UB weekend means 1) stay off Tinder, or 2) be hit like a brick with a swarm of hardcore bros hitting on you, dropping pick-up lines like, “Anyone wanna make out? Staying at Econo Lodge in my van hmu.”

So when the bros come, I trot down to GWARbar to drink PBR and document my favorite local phenomenon. Below is my third annual compilation of United Blood hardcore bros hard-styling on Tinder, promptly named 2-Step Tinder and bedazzled in a Valentine’s-themed scrapbook.

I hope my tireless hours swiping through a sea of “you up?”-s and “wanna make out?”-s are as appreciated by you as they are by us here at RVAMag.

See you in the pit!

*Despite Tinder being a public social channel, we’ve censored the personal information of most bros. We want the hardcore community to enjoy 2-Step Tinder as much as we do!*

“I have a hatebreed stick and poke.”

Hardstyle to my heart.

Swipe right for goth mosh.

Bring your United Blood ticket stubs to GWARbar for a free 16oz water!

Straightedge if u don’t count my only drug – love.

Check out the full scrapbook here in high resolution, complete with the best-of from #UnitedBlood Twitter, local Richmonder quotes and all the goth mosh your heart desires.
