Best of RVA Missed Connections 12/23-29

by | Dec 30, 2014 | COMMUNITY, POLITICS

You might think the holiday weekend would kill the action on Craigslist over the past weekend, but you’d be wrong–it was business as usual on the Missed Connections, only with slightly more travel references.

You might think the holiday weekend would kill the action on Craigslist over the past weekend, but you’d be wrong–it was business as usual on the Missed Connections, only with slightly more travel references. There’s nothing like tense family gatherings to leave you dwelling way too much on that cutie who sat next to you on the plane. Or so this week would make it seem.

Other random themes that cropped up this week include karaoke and fire-eating. And then there were the usual fixations (Starbucks, alcohol, creepin’), and a bonus appearance from what might be the most obviously doomed Missed Connections ad I’ve ever seen. I’ll let you figure out which one of these I mean, but I’ll give you a hint first:

Cali girl who eats fire – m4w – 19 (Plane)

We talked on the flight to RVA, you told me you’re from Cali, eat fire, and party to Juicy J. You told me your name and to hit you up on Facebook, but I forgot it.

P.s I’m An idiot for not just getting your number.

Tell me your name (again), where you went to school, and what I do for a living so I know it’s you.

Target on Libby/ Crazy Hair Colour – w4m (Richmond)

You were working security at Target and complemented my pink hair. I told you you’d look badass with a black beard. You were cute and charming. Drop me a line if you thought likewise.

northbound palmetto day after christmas – m4w – 27

So in business class on the Palmetto (number 90) Amtrak route I’m pretty sure you caught me looking at you at least once. I’m honestly super proud of myself for not staring.

When you got off at Richmond you said something, I think to me, as you passed by my seat to disembark. I had my headphones on and couldn’t tell what, though.

I was super self conscious and wanted to strike up conversation but hell if the train doesn’t seem like an awkward place to do it…stuck in a space like that for hours just seems like a place where, were I as beautiful as you, I’d hate being unable to hide from any unwanted attention.

Anyways, I dunno if there’s any meaningful means of mutual identification, but what color dominated your ensemble could maybe work? I’m afraid I don’t even remember what I was wearing. If you saw the chit saying where I was due to disembark, that’d work, I guess, but mostly I just want you to know how intoxicatingly gorgeous I found you. (Hint: the gorgeousness equivalent of a gallon of everclear’s ABV)

sexy man singing kenny rogers – w4m (jackson ward/scotts addition)

Just cause i don’t sing as well as you (or want to do karaoke), doesn’t mean i am not excited about you. Islands in the stream, that is what we are. No one in between, how can we be wrong. Sail away with me, to another world. And we rely on each other, uh huh. From one lover to another, uh huh.

Love-er

Baron – w4m – 30 (Baton Rouge)

My bedroom was destroyed by a tornado a few days ago. I am realizing that you exist and how much I like you. I prayed in Sainte Chappelle a few years ago, and I think God is punishing me for not submitting. I want to love you and call you master. We match in more than blood. I hope it’s not too late–that when I realize that you and I fit you have moved on. I would do practically anything for you. I am ill but I have enough. I want to know you sweetheart. Let me in.

Daniel from Chesterfield – w4m (richmond)

You used to live on grace street, I’ve always kind of wondered what happened to you.

You’d watch cartoons like mad and smoked in your apartment without a shirt on. You mentioned you were raised a certain religion, went to a certain school, and you also had a pet. Please let me know these 3 details when responding to this ad.

I really want to find you Daniel, this is important to me. You had long hair (that was past your shoulders at the time) and complained about wearing a suit at work. I can see your face like it was yesterday, with that big toothy smile.. riding your bike. You’ll still be in your 20s- we had a mutual acquaintance, Nate.

Starbucks on Gaskins – m4w – 32 (Rva)

I believe it was Monday the 22nd and you were in the car in front of me in the Starbucks drive-thru on Gaskins near Broad. I saw you leaning your head down to catch a look of me in the mirror. I thought you were pretty cute. I should have said something but I didn’t want to be another douche throwing out the catcalls. If you see this and you’re interested, let’s go inside and enjoy a cup together sometime. Mention what I was driving so I can tell if it’s really you.

Young black guy in the steam room – m4m (Downtown gym)

Tuesday evening – I was checking you out while you were at your locker and you busted me. I went into the steam room and you came in and sat next to me but it was crowded. You went outside, I went in the sauna and looked at you until you came in but again there was an older dude in there that kept trying to get in on the action. I left and went to the shower and I think you followed me but there was another black guy that was trying to horn in on the action. Man, I hate when someone tries to get in your business. I think he scared you off like he did me. Let’s get together outside of the creep room. Tell me about yourself, including your hair so I know it’s you.

I’m in love with a stripper – m4w

Last Call at Cary St. Cafe- Curly haired blonde – m4w

This is a shot in the dark but why not?!!! We talked briefly and you suggested that we become karaoke buddies. You mentioned that you generally do Guns-N-Roses. You seemed interested and so was I, but I froze up (totally unlike me) and told you I would see you Sunday for karaoke. Can’t say this is love because I believe that takes time but I would like to see where this could go.
