One of the biggest and best Festivals on the East Coast, Lockn’ Festival, is happening Sept 10-13th.

One of the biggest and best Festivals on the East Coast, Lockn’ Festival, is happening Sept 10-13th. Luckily this festival is pretty close to us over in Nelson county VA and we are stoked on the lineup with some of the biggest acts in music today.

We have more coming to you about this festival, and a special ticket giveaway as well, but in the mean time, here are a few tracks to get excited about:

Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters

Seeing Robert Plant live would have to be one of the highlights for anyone going to a festival, but to get two nights in a row at Lockn’ is incredible. This is something not to be missed – it’s historic and one of the things we are most looking forward to. If you happen to catch him at Bonaroo, or from the live feed, you know that this will be amazing:

Mad Dogs & Englishmen Album / Tribute to Joe Cocker

Featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band with special guests Leon Russell (famous piano man), Dave Manson (Traffic), Rita Coolidge, Chris Robinson (Black Crows), Doyle Bramhall II and friends.

These kinds of festivals are great for forming one-time super groups and that’s what you’ll get when you hang around for this massive tribute to Joe Cocker:

Fishbone

If you have not seen Fishbone live you have missed out big time. So this is your chance to catch one of the best live acts of all time. Fishbone has 25+ years leading ska, punk, rock, and fusion of many styles of music.

They know how throw a party and really get the crowd going with their leader Angelo Moore (Dr. Madd Vibe) leading the charge. This is a high energy unit that always impresses when seen live. C
heck out the vide to see what we mean, and see you in the crowd for this one!

Phil Lesh & Friends with Special Guests – Carlos Santana

Once again Phil Lesh (founding member of the Grateful Dead) will be bringing his ever changing outfit of top level musicians to the Lockn’ stage for two nights. This is a literal who’s who in the world of musicians. This year special guest Carlos Santana one of the greats guitarist ever will be joining them Saturday night. Next to Santana and Lesh you’ll see Govt. Mule’s Warren Haynes, and a mess of other incredibly high quality musicians.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

It’s Trombone Shorty. I sound like a broken record here but (damn!) these guys are another amazing act that going to really impress people with their live energy. We are talking funky, jazzy, rock, with a hip hop flavor that gets everyone moving. Watch the video and tell me that doesn’t look like one of the best parties available.

Other acts that should be super obvious not to miss: Jefferson Airplane – 50 Year Celebration, Billy & The Kids with guests, The Doobie Incident (Doobie Brothers and String Cheese Incident), Galatic, Micky Hart, Widespread Panic, and Keller Williams just to name a few.

The entire show is going to be sick and we hope ya’ll will consider making the trip.
