Trump vs. Bernie: Comedians take the podium in mock debate at The Broadberry on Sunday

by | Feb 19, 2016 | POLITICS

This is the lively debate we’ve all been waiting for.

This is the lively debate we’ve all been waiting for. We reported last week that Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders would be speaking at Virginia State University this week.

Now, that didn’t happen, but this weekend we believe there is something even better than Sanders himself coming to town.

The Broadberry and The Coalition Theater will host Trump vs. Bernie Sunday, a mock debate where the two political heavyweights (aka comedians) will go head to head in a live unsanctioned mock debate.

Los Angeles-based comedian James Abdomian will play the role of Bernie Sanders. He’s best known for his role on Comedy Bang Bang! and the Late Late Show where he impersonated George W. Bush until 2009.

The Donald will be played by Anthony Atamanuik, a New York comedian who performs with award winning improv group Death by Roo Roo. He also co-hosts ASSSSCAT 3000, and has his own one-man variety show, The Tony Show.

The two are on a 16-city tour for their Trump vs. Bernie comic debate.

It’s Democratic Socialist versus Republican billionaire so you don’t want to miss out on this.

Get ready for heavy accents, bad hair, and some laughs as the two tackle the poltical process this Sunday at The Broadberry at 8 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
