Best Of VA Missed Connections October 21 – October 27

RVA Staff | October 27, 2020

Topics: Best of craigslist, best of missed connections, Charlottesville, craigslist richmond va, Fredericksburg, missed connections, Norfolk, richmond, Richmond missed connections, richmond va, roanoke, RVA, things to do in richmond va, Virginia Beach

Welcome to another week of Missed Connections, where we find the anonymous denizens of Craigslist asking: can this year just end already? Here at RVA Mag, we are definitely feeling burnt out, Missed Connections posters — rest assured, you are not alone.

That said, we don’t just have Christmas to look forward to, we also have some fun treats this very week. For example, the guy (person?) hitting on their stepmom, about which all we can say is “OMG.” Or the dudes cruising grandpas at Home Depot — which, I must admit, sure seems like a good place to find a grandpa if that’s what you’re in the market for. And of course, there’s the down-low cruising scene in the ammo section out at Green Top. It begs the question: what are y’all compensating for?

All this plus Doordash driver meet-cutes, Beastie-loving Honda drivers, and people who really just want to compliment a woman on her dress (not that there’s anything wrong with that). This week is a real bonanza.

By the way, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but “towards” is not spelled like that. Just ask everyone’s favorite Richmond garage-rock band.

Gently with a chainsaw, Virginia.

Anyone else burnt out? (Henrico)

I was just wondering if there are people out there that are just burnt out by everything that is going on in 2020. Maybe you’re burnt out on friends, family, job, life whatever and you need someone to just vent with that is can bring a fresh perspective. I know I could use someone like that. Anyway, I think we could all use a good laugh.

Cute girl at Powhatan state park (Mechanicsville)

Long shot but why not. I was with my two dogs walking to my car. I saw you at the map board walked into a trail then back out. We said hi to each other in the parking area as you walked tords the trail I came from. You are stunningly beautiful! You were wearing a white shirt, black pants. Reply with what you noticed about me.

Bryan Park Couple-Sat (Bryan Park)

The couple strolling about Bryan Park on Saturday afternoon. I really liked the dress she was wearing and would have liked to have said that in person and be my model……BUT, unable to say. Take care!!!!

Stepmom do you need help? (Stafford)

I know you and dad aren’t so Hot right now. He has told me, plus it is obvious when I come over, your body language rejects him every time he enters a room. Maybe I can help, no one will have to know. Its not like I am not old enough now and you deserve to be happy.

Hottie in the Honda (Magnolia Green – Midlothian)

I had the windows up blaring the Beastie Boys……you were turning left into Magnolia Green and my light turned green to go…..I wish my light was red longer.

Gloucester Starbucks (Gloucester)

You bought my coffee this morning and that really made my day. I did follow you to thank you. I’m glad I caught up to you. You are gorgeous. I’d love to buy coffee for you one day, and hopefully have a nice conversation. Thanks again. I hope I see you again.

Inquiring Minds

Why is it when a genuine post gets posted it gets flagged for removal but posts on here about people wanting to hook up and cheat on their spouses on the down low never get flagged? Just curious…. And slightly irritated…

Grandpa (Midlothian)

I want to say thank again for helping today.
You were at the Home Depot in north chesterfield and helped me in the plumbing department.

Maybe I can buy you a coffee or a beer?

Send me a picture soI know it’s you

Older/ Grandpa (Richmond)

I am sorry to say I deleted your message to me.
This is the man who was interested in finding the chubby grandpa at Home Depot in Midlothian.
You helped me in the plumbing department.
I hope you see this soon.
I hope you will send that picture so I know it’s you.

older man wants to take a boy fishing (Norfolk)

older man wants to teach a young man who didn’t have a father how to enjoy the outdoors fishing and camping

Midlothian Walgreens (Midlothian)

You had beautiful black hair, and were watching me from behind the counter. I was wearing a black long sleeved shirt. I kept seeing you look at me and I could not help but return your gaze. I am sure you have a lovely smile behind the mask. I was having a rough day, but you made it considerably better, thank you!

Construction clean (Chesterfield)

I clean new construction homes and you’ve been there a few times looking very handsome. I hope you read this and feel the same. If so hit me up, tell me what you were wearing today

Lionshead barber shop (Ocean View)

One of the Female Barbers that works there. Your name starts with an A. You’re very cute and we’ve talked many times when I come in there and we’re on a first name basis. I feel like there is a connection being we both of kids the same age and we always make a lot of eye contact. I’ve had a crush on you for so long now. I was in the shop this past Saturday the 24th

Hope this makes it to you

Northern Neck Guy (West End)

Looking to see if I can reconnect with a guy who was in Green Top Sporting Goods a few months ago on a Sunday. We were both looking at the ammo selection and you had been to the Bass Pro range on Saturday. Older guy here and you were younger. We talked and there was a period we both wanted to say more but didnt; lots of people around, plus I you mentioned someone else was with you. Wish we had exchanged txt and hooked up later. There is a snowballs chance in hell you will see this but havent seen you back and want to.

Busch Gardens (Williamsburg)

We were on the same line earlier. When I was on the ride, we had an eye contact and we both winked on each other. You were with the kid and a guy. Hit me up, if it’s you! Tell me what was I wearing!

Met at Honotoki (Virginia beach)

We met at honotoki teriyaki. We were both doing doordash orders, you were driving a white Volkswagen, I was driving a silver mustang. I was wearing a black and white checkered shirt. You initiated a conversation with me out of the blue but I didn’t realize till after that you were interested in me. If by some chance you see this post, email me. Tell me your profession so I know it is you, you mentioned it to me in conversation And doordash was just a way for you to make extra money on the side.

You were the best (MIDLOTHIAN)

You are the nicest guy another guy could meet. You were personable, gentile and very sincere. I hope you see this and you wonderful hands will reach out.

Virtual or in person? (Newport News)

That’s the question right now – to meet virtual or in person. I can say that I’m a guy that has tried them both and can make either enjoyable. However, in my opinion you can’t beat personal interaction. If you’re a gal who would like to discuss this I’d love to hear from you.

Blonde at Short Pump Publix this morning (Short Pump)

I’m sure this has no chance of succeeding…but…

You…blonde, print top, black slacks, yellow handbag…this morning (Friday) at Short Pump Kroger.

Me…khaki slacks, black golf shirt.

Something about you says you’d be interesting to talk to…

Email me here…yes?

Missing your 3rd dimension, all that makes you F. (Suffolk)

All summer I dreamed, imagined, sunk deeper into my thoughts (and lawn chair 🙂 while laying out, absorbing the humidity… thanks to Covid, the only girls I watched were two-dimensional. They still excited me (perhaps a bit too much) and now, as it grows cooler (stopped raining, FINALLY) my lonely days just seem like that- alone. I don’t completely mind, and perhaps I am very cautious, but I’ve known people who were very sick with coronavirus – and won’t let that happen to me.

It is wonderful though… having some kind of connection. Emails, texting, sharing secrets, pics, laughing and flirts. I miss that, I think, more than anything else at this time.

I’m out there, 40’s WM, attractive

And would like to get to know youuuuuu…..

Best Of VA Missed Connections October 14 – October 20

RVA Staff | October 20, 2020

Topics: Best of craigslist, best of missed connections, Charlottesville, craigslist richmond va, Fredericksburg, missed connections, Norfolk, richmond, Richmond missed connections, richmond va, roanoke, RVA, things to do in richmond va, Virginia Beach

It’s the last gasp of warm weather for the year, folks, and before we all inevitably end up quarantined in our houses once again, the time is right to get out there and make a Missed Connection of your own! Some people have been doing that this time around, including plenty of beachgoers and dog walkers smiling at each other when their wives weren’t looking.

The Missed Connections see you, and here at RVA Mag, we weed out all the posts about cleaning out clogged pipes so you can find the best of what this section has to offer. This week, we’ve got auction hunters and Trader Joe cultists, lots of attractive ladies walking tiny cute dogs, and a novice farmer looking for a Bo Peep to tend his as-yet-unpurchased sheep. I’m kidding — I have no idea what kind of farming the guy wants to do. But I do know you can’t smoke inside the farmhouse.

One word of advice, though: if you’re advertising that you’ll take someone to dinner, it seems like a good idea to offer something a bit fancier than Burger King. That kind of first-date impression doesn’t generally lead to a second one.

Splash out a little, Virginia.

Haven’t we been here before? (CHARLOTTESVILLE)

I’m not sure if this is really the “right” place to put this, but I am just looking for someone in the area who would like to chat about the universe and the meaning of life and all the boring stuff between. In a way, it is a “missed connection” though…

If – for some reason – you came across this post (perhaps while trolling to see what “pipe cleaning” services are available today) and you’re not just looking to get laid but actually have a meaningful conversation: please feel free to respond.

Older man (Richmond)

You were really helpful and I wanted to say thanks.

I mentioned your white hair and we joked about your big belly.

I hope you have a great weekend!

I believe your name was Emily at the auction (Richmond)

I know you’ll never see this, but I couldn’t help but stare into those amazing dark brown eyes. I’d bid the world just to share your gaze…

Trader Joe’s Southside

I believe it was around 4:30
We passed each other a few times and again on the way out of the store.
You have grey hair and were maybe 50’s to 60’s?

I’d love to talk or get together if you’re interested let me know
Tell me what I was wearing..

Lake Anna (Louisa)

We were hanging out on the water this past summer with 5 or 6 couples from the neighborhood. Could not help but notice everytime our wives were away you were interested in talking to to me. I lost your contact information. We should stay in touch.

You were the best (MIDLOTHIAN)

You are the nicest guy another guy could meet. You were personable, gentile and very sincere. I hope you see this and you wonderful hands will reach out.

Where is my queen (Virginia Beach)

Your gentleman is awaiting the return of his queen. We use to spend amazing times together and the ones to come will be better. Let’s go out this weekend. Or do whatever you want. I will shower you and treat you like the queen. You are

Lady chicks Beach (Virginia Beach)

Beautiful woman that was walking her Corgi on 10-12-20 on Ocean View Ave in Chicks Beach. I want to stop and say hi but was running late for a meeting. I believe you were wearing a pinkish red shirt the sun was going down at the time. I would love to chat with you sometime if you’re not attached.

Wawa on E Hundred Rd- Blonde cashier (E Hundred Rd)

I was in your store tonight and you were my cashier. We had a couple of eye contact moments. I thought you were very pretty. I was wearing a hat and wearing glasses and a mask. Let’s chat. I remember your name so tell me when you answer.

To the tall guy working

I was driving by your house on Barclay Avenue to see you working and I saw you waving at me.

I want to help with you at the house & any other task that is needed. I’ll even pay for your lunch, preferably at Burger King. I have over ten years of experience and won’t burn a big hole in your pocket.

Best Of VA Missed Connections October 7 – October 13

RVA Staff | October 13, 2020

Topics: Best of craigslist, best of missed connections, Charlottesville, craigslist richmond va, Fredericksburg, missed connections, Norfolk, richmond, Richmond missed connections, richmond va, roanoke, RVA, things to do in richmond va, Virginia Beach

It’s October, the month that pumpkin spice becomes completely ubiquitous and at least half of your neighbors spend entirely devoted to elaborate Halloween decorations. Here at the Missed Connections, finding the perfect person to hand out treats with is a full-time occupation, one complicated considerably by the ongoing need to socially distance. But hey, at least this month has the mask thing covered.

This week, as you’ve come to expect, the MCs have the usual dosage of romantic weirdness covered, from the compression-stocking-rocking RVA Mag reader who loves undercut ponytails (shout out) to spontaneous dance parties breaking out at railroad crossings. Plus, adorable surfer hair helps a C-ville resident get over their hangup about out-of-state plates, a longtime crush on a bank teller finally gets expressed publicly, and an adult novelty store encounter occurs in a way that actually manages to be charming and not weird.

By the way, just to editorialize for a moment: sandwiches never ruin anyone’s day — least of all, sandwiches from Sheetz.

Enjoy your pumpkin-spice burrito, Virginia.

M4F Farm Fresh self checkout line

me: black shirt black shorts and a black leg compression stocking to match (lol), green hat and glasses

you: blue workout clothes, blonde with the sides and back of your head shaved (undercut ponytail?). you smiled at me in line behind your mask and i could tell by your giant gorgeous blue eyes. turns out we parked next to each other and i’m pretty sure you snuck a few more glances but i couldn’t tell because your windows were tinted.

would love to meet face to face (still masked!) sometime.

i’ve never posted one of these things- yo rvamag help me out!

Woman at Powhatan Sheetz

We locked eyes in the checkout line. I wanted to talk to you, but I had to wait for my order. Sandwich ruined my day again! It was around 5:15 today, and you were wearing a camo t-shirt. If you’re interested, let me know what I was wearing or something about me so that I know it’s you. Hope to hear from you

ems (hanover)

If there’s anything I remember that night, it’s how well you treated me, your name, the book and your eyes.

I don’t even think I got a chance to say thank you and how appreciative I was that you actually treated me like a human being which I haven’t had in a long time.

I’m writing this probably out of guilt because I barely said a thing when you said you were leaving but I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t feel some sort of connection.

The biggest thing is I’m grateful and thank you. Just talking to you open my eyes to a lot more than you can imagine.

Keep changing people lives. You’re good at it 🙂

Kroger (Carytown)

We crossed paths on the back aisle…your were pretty white female and u said u liked my smiley face mask…if u come across this….hey lets chat…

Railroad crossing dance party (Port norfolk)

Cleveland st and railroad ave

Long shot here, hoping to get in touch with the ladies in the Nissan murano sl that danced outside there car while we waited on the train to get out the way. I’m the one that was in the tractor trailer behind y’all having the surprise night of his life, I’m down there off Harper road every night of the week besides mon an tues

curly haired Californian cutie (charlottesville)

I’d still be angry at all the out-of-state license plates if it weren’t for you. You gave off MASSIVE Californian surfer boy vibes but I can’t stay mad at a boy with hair like that. I sat on a porch just 3 houses up the street from le petit and you smiled at me on your walk to downtown. I walked to get a coffee in the hopes that you’d be there. I think you drove a mini van.

Dreadhead at Crunch m2m (Richmond)

We spoke in passing by the lockers.

You were mid30s tall, black, long dreads
I was mid40s red shorts, salt and pepper hair.

Had more to say. Hit me up.

Ghent bank teller — name starts with J

We always hit it off. Just seemed to connect in talking about stuff in general. I would be there for work, at YOUR work, so it was just small talk. But I always thought it would be nice to get to know each other WITHOUT plexiglass between us over beer or coffee. But it was awkward to give you my number or for you to give me yours.

Though I did try. 🙂

With COVID, even that beer or coffee may take awhile. But I don’t come in anymore, so was hoping you see this, and we can reconnect over the phone, for now.

Anyway, I know your first name, where you work (of course), roughly where you live, and even where you’re from and whom you live with. So if you are the right person, we’ll have no trouble figuring it out.

Wish there was a way to be direct, but given the CL reputation, I think keeping details out of the first post make sense.

Hope you see this, and I hope I hear from you soon.

For you (Stafford)

Hey. I know you’re going through something, probably even more than what you’ve already revealed recently. I’m here. No judgement. If you need me, just say it. Just say the word. I’ve got you.

Written by a woman

Tractor Supply (Culpeper)

You were coming out of Tractor Supply in Culpeper and I was heading in. I noticed we were wearing the same pattern shirt. As you passed by, I said to you, “I like your shirt.” You smiled back and said, “Thanks.”

What pattern shirt were we both wearing?

Blonde lady at Wawa (Broad/288)

Saw you this morning at the Wawa grabbing items for the workday. You definitely caught my eye…. especially your hair and curves. Would love to hear from ya if you see this!

Shopping (Hampton)

Hello. You came to my store and purchased a few toys. You said this was your first time using toys. You were excited about how knowledgeable I was and thanked me numerous times for helping you out. I would love to meet again. I am the owner. Let me know if this is you. Looking for a guy

Rest area (Dinwiddie)

Stopped by rest area last night on my way home. Made eye contact with a truck driver a few times was wondering if you were still there and need some attention

Echo nurse Chor (Rva)

I had an echo done there today by you. I thought you were very cute. We talked about getting cold outside and leaves changing. I didn’t think to ask for your number or anything. If you happen to see this reply with where you live which we talked about also.

The lady working on her yard (norfolk)

The lady who was outside yesterday you wear the hell out of those black yoga pants perfect body.

Lowes 17 (Stafford)

You kept walking back & forth from one end of Lowe’s to the other. Your a short female, blonde hair. You had on sweat pants & a purple hoodie. After you passed me the 3rd time I said, your running a marathon today. You ended up in line behind me at the register too. I’d love to introduce myself. Describe what I looked like if remember me.
