The 2015 RVA Beer Madness Round #2 has reached its exciting conclusion, and the massive battles continued, bringing us to Round #3 and the Sweet 16!!

Round #2 had a few close matchups that again came down to the wire, with some teams winning by just 1 point.

In the Downtown/Shockoe Region, Capital Ale house nudges out a very close win over Penny Lane Pub, while both Saison and GWAR Bar win by just a few points, which pits them against each other in Round #3.

In The Fan/Scott’s Addition Region, The Camel continues its strong run with a close call against Savory Grain, and Hardywood continues its own dominant showing as last year’s runner up. Fat Dragon and 821 had one of the most back and forth battles of all time – in the end Fat Dragon pulled out the win. Now they meet the always-strong Joe’s Inn, who has had very little issue taking out teams on the way to the top.

In the Museum District/Carytown Region, Weezie’s Kitchen pulls out a win against a very strong Galaxy team, moving on to meet up with top-seeded Mellow Mushroom. This year’s Beer Madness Cinderella story, Garden Grove, has a buzzer-beater against the beloved New York Deli to move on to meet up with Portrait House. Will Garden Grove be able to maintain their momentum against the ever-popular Portrait House in Round #3?

In the West End/Southside Region, Mekong–last year’s winner and top seed–takes out Corks & Kegs on its way to seeking its 2nd Title. UPSET ALERT!!! The Blue Goat takes out top team Total Win & More, and finds itself facing Mekong. We have another UPSET with The Bucket trade winning in a tough matchup with Sedona Tap House. And finally we have the Strangeways team that has been strong throughout having a breakthrough and beating The Answer Brewpub. Strangeways is looking primed to make a deep run this year! This division is full of strong contenders but at the top lies the Behemoth, Mekong, looking to run the gauntlet on everyone.

This leaves us with top teams matching ups in every game for Round #3 and the Sweet 16!

Cast your votes for our matchups for Round 3, and feel free to share this bracket with friends and businesses in our community.
