Richmond’s Public Arts Commission Seeking Artists for Hull Street Library

by | Mar 13, 2017 | ART

Murals and all mediums of works of art have become not only something that Richmond is known for, but has become part of our culture and something that’s cherished by every Richmonder, so whenever there’s an opportunity for new artists to create, its a win for the whole city.

Richmond’s Public Arts Commission is seeking artists to create outdoor artwork for the Hull Street Library.

According to Richmond’s request for proposal, the site for the art is located in front of the library within the existing brick circle. Existing plantings and signage will be relocated prior to artist installation.

The budget allocated for the project is $51,000, which includes all artist’s costs and installation. Deadline for submissions is April 20, 2017 by 4 pm.

While artists from all regions are eligible for the project, the arts commission is strongly encouraging Richmond-area artists to apply.

Selection of the final artist will be in June and the artwork is slated to be installed in the library this fall. For more information, check the proposal out here.
