With literally millions having listened to his tracks, Richmond’s own VIKING has blazed a trail and brought a national spotlight to our cities club scene. Having just played RVA’s RVALUTION a few weeks ago, we hope to have him back sooner than later.

VIKING(aka Philip J Ceconi II) is a key figure in the growing electronic music scene in his hometown of Richmond Virginia, where he has been polishing his DJ skills for a couple of years now. He made a name for himself on a national level with a bootleg remix of Kid Cudi’s little-known track “Dat New New”. The track took on a life of it’s own, being featured in over fifty music blogs and countless youtube videos and has been played millions of times online.
Since then VIKING has completed remixes for (among others) The Sounds, Cazals and Terror Dactel, Cut Copy, Amanda Blank and Shwayze (see below) – winning a lot of friends on the blogs (he has hit #1 on the hype machine most popular chart at least three times now)

A rigid recording schedule has allowed for only a handful of high profile shows, supporting The Sounds on the East Coast leg of their live tour, Music Festivals in Brooklyn and Canada, and a string of shows at New York’s ‘Girls and Boys’ party (at Webster Hall), playing alongside artists such as Data, Sinden, Dave 1 from Chromeo and Wolfgang Gartner.

Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is.
