Ladies and gentlemen, the thing that no one ever thought would happen is happening — Richmond hardcore/punk legends Avail are returning for one night only to do a reunion gig at The National on July 19. Hold onto your butts, y’all, because this whole town is gonna explode.
The quintet, who haven’t played a show in over a decade, are returning to action in order to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their fourth album, Over The James. Seems a bit of an arbitrary number, but why worry about the reasoning? What’s important is that the band whose catchy, powerful tunes were the soundtrack to daily life in Richmond two decades ago are returning to action once again.
Tickets go on sale at 10 AM Friday — and if you’re thinking the ticket booth should open six hours early in honor of Avail’s classic third LP, well, you’re not the only one. The tickets are $25 in advance, and there’s no point in telling you how much they’ll be at the door, because this WILL sell out. Bookmark this link now, and be sure to grab yours ASAP, because if the available ticket supply lasts even a day, we’ll be amazed.
