Attention partiers – take a cab,
the drunk bus, or Uber Saturday night (and any night you get drunk, damnit!)

VCU has announced a check point will be in place Saturday night from 11 PM Saturday night till 3 AM Sunday morning. Don’t be an idiot and drink and drive. Here’s specifics via VCU News:

The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department will conduct an administrative checkpoint this weekend. Officers will be checking drivers’ licenses and registrations.

The checkpoint will be operational on the 700 block of West Main Street, near Monroe Park, from 11 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, to 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. Law enforcement officers from the Richmond Police Department, Virginia State Police and Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will assist.

The checkpoint is funded by a grant through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

Media interested in covering the checkpoint should email VCU Police Public Information Officer Corey Byers at byersc@vcu.edu by Friday, Aug. 29, at 5 p.m.
