Esquire Network, the new channel that recently bought out Style Network, had previously aired commercials for its new, original docu-series named “How I Rock It” about men’s style with the host being Baron Davis. Sound familiar?

Baron Davis is a two-time NBA All-Star who most recently played for the New York Knicks as the starting point guard. In May of 2012, Davis completely tore his ACL and MCL and also partially tore his patellar tendon in his right knee and underwent surgery and took the following season off.

Since his departure, Davis, in addition to being a basketball player, has also hosted a Celebrity Kickball event for the past three summers with the benefits going to Rising Stars of America, a charity foundation started by Baron Davis in 2004 to help the youth in Los Angeles.

In addition to his basketball career and philanthropy, Davis has received a large portion of attention from his personal, eclectic style and his gorgeous, meticulously groomed beard. In 2010, GQ Magazine dubbed Davis “The Sharpest Point in the NBA.” He has also talked to the NBA about style in the NBA.

There is no doubt about why Esquire Network is choosing to do show about style and wanted him to be the host. I don’t think that I have ever seen a show about style that featured a black man as the host – hence my excitement. A black man, portrayed in a positive light, talking about style rarely if EVER happens on television.

Davis is also an executive producer for the series. During the show, Davis will profile athletes, musicians, celebrities, designers and other various fashion leaders who want to set a new standard on what today’s stylish man is. “How I Rock It” will air on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 10|9c on Esquire Network.

“Style is more than what you wear, it’s your story.” — Baron Davis

REVIEW | Ducking Awesome! WitchDuck Is Smart, Sharp, and Ruthless
