Beyond Space Monkeys with Dalek

by | Feb 13, 2012 | ART

Dalek is coming to town for a street art project happening downtown in April. For those unfamiliar, James Marshall aka Dalek made his mark in the art world with his iconic Space Monkey character and merging street art, Japanese pop and the energy of the urban punk scene. Since moving past the Space Monkey phase, his work is more abstract, pure energy pieces that are mutli-layered with a futuristic bright color palette.

In 2005, I created RVA Magazine, and I'm still at the helm as its publisher. From day one, it’s been about pushing the “RVA” identity, celebrating the raw creativity and grit of this city. Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is.
