Fantasy nerds, HBO fans, and lovers of scantily clad ladies unite: Winter Burlesque Is Coming! This weekend, TFW producer extraordinaire Moxie LaBouche will be presenting two different performances of a burlesque/comedy tribute to Game Of Thrones, right here in RVA. This show will actually be touring the Mid-Atlantic area courtesy of Blacklist Burlesque, but before all that happens, you have the perfect opportunity to see the whole thing go down in Richmond.

The excitement begins with a slightly stripped-down performance at the Coalition Theater (8 W. Broad St) on Friday, September 5. Beginning at 10 PM, this evening will alternate between burlesque portrayals of such characters as Cersei Lannister and Nymeria the Direwolf with improvisational comedy from David Pijor, Jim Zarling, and others. The evening will be hosted by Ego Von Hubris in the role of the legendarily obnoxious King Joffrey Baratheon.

But to get the full-scale version of Burlesque Is Coming, you really must visit Gottwald Playhouse at Richmond CenterStage (600 E. Grace St) on Saturday, September 6, where an expanded cast will transform the noted Richmond venue into the seven kingdoms of Westeros. The evening will feature performances by Those Freaking Weirdos cast member Dante The Inferno, RVA newcomer Zadora von Zaftig, premier Norfolk burlesque performer and producer Lily Liqueur, opera singer turned burlesque dancer Bree Madonna, returning RVA expatriate Lilly von Grimm, and your headliner, award-winning NoVA burlesque performer Bella LaBlanc, the self-proclaimed “Stepford Wife gone wild!”

Expect all sorts of Game Of Thrones-inspired excitement, including a Dothraki funeral scene during which no one will be seated. Everyone familiar with this show will know what that means; yes, we’re guessing there will be fire. And who doesn’t love fire? As a sneak preview to all the Game Of Thrones comedy burlesque excitement, the producers put together a trailer in which George R.R. Martin’s characters take over Globehopper Coffee & Lounge. If the video’s any indication, you should prepare for maximum silliness to take place at CenterStage this Saturday:

Producer Moxie LaBouche was behind the much-beloved burlesque tribute to The Princess Bride at CenterStage’s Gottwald Playhouse earlier this year. Whether you were among the number fortunate enough to see that performance, or if you only heard about it afterwards, you definitely don’t want to miss this opportunity to see exactly what these fine performers come up with for the darker, more twisted fantasy that is Game Of Thrones (sorry, Kanye).

Tickets for both shows are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Order tickets for Friday’s show at the Coalition Theater HERE, and for Saturday’s show at CenterStage HERE.

Or, if you’re feeling lucky, you could enter to win a pair of tickets to Friday’s show from your friends at RVA Mag! Just plug your info into the Punchtab widget below by Friday at 1 PM, and keep an eye out for extra chances to win!

This event is brought to you by Strangeways Brewing, Good Dog Grooming Studio, Refuge For Men, Richmond Taylor Rental Party Plus, and The Answer Brewpub.
