Skyrocket in the air on the James River water, while listening to DJ William Projekt, Long Lawns, and more! RVA Wake N’ Sun Fest is the last ho-rah of the summer before we really get back into the fully fledge swing of reality of fall… and work… and school. Instead of doing your usual Labor Day Weekend activities, join the cool kids at Rockett’s Landing where water activities, including an introduction to water jet packs, a half pipe, food and beer trucks, local bands/DJs, and 50+ vendors from the DC/Richmond area are sure to provide you with a one-of-a-kind Richmond experience.

Dj WIliam Projekt recently shared stages with R&B singer John Legend, alternative sensations, Dave Matthews Band, Citizen Cope, and etc. “…about 90% of the talent I have close relationships with and feel they fit the vibe we are trying to create… a lot of fusion between Funky/Disco House music + Tropical Island Jam + a focus on the whole Moombahton Movement,” Co-Owner of Fisher Budd Ventures, LLC, Jimmy Budd said.

The talent is an accumulation of DC and Richmond artists that have been receiving attention in both the national and international arena. Talent includes Long Johns, The Reinhold (Party Liberation Front /RVA Magazine), The Polychrons (RVA), and The Handsmiths (DC) are just a few of the artists. “I could go on and on with the amount of amazing local talent booked here who are making major moves in the production/booking world…and most live right here in RVA! … I would also keep an eye and ear out for McGill Lee Jackson. This guy has an unbelievable voice and the music he is writing and producing is phenomenal! He could easily be an industry staple wherever he goes,” Jimmy said.

The event has been in motion for about three years and excitement is swirling around as the vision becomes reality within the last couple of days before the festival being Rockett’s Landings first “festival setting.” Activities include kayaking, canoeing, paddleboard, sprinklers, water pong tournament, Jet Ski rentals, live painters, art, accessory, jewelry, and clothing vendors.

Jimmy Budd has plans on making this an expansion if all goes the first year. Come join us, this Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 11am-9pm, all ages are welcome to un-wine and have a sun and fun-filled time in RVA!
