We made the paper! Here is a snippet of the front page story featured in the Richmond Times Dispatch today about the G40.

Downtown Richmond is being transformed into an outdoor art gallery.

Artists from around the world have begun painting murals on buildings in the Broad Street corridor for a monthlong art show, G40 Art Summit – Richmond. Last week, the first two murals went up on a building on West Grace Street. One is an enormous mural of a pair of astronauts locked in a kiss. The other depicts two doves and a pair of open hands. About 20 permanent murals will be splashed across downtown buildings, including one that will be five stories tall.

“There’s such a need — and want — for something to make that area unique,” said R. Anthony Harris, publisher of RVA Magazine and an organizer of the event. “We think it’s going to have a really big impact on the perception of Richmond.”

In 2005, I created RVA Magazine, and I'm still at the helm as its publisher. From day one, it’s been about pushing the “RVA” identity, celebrating the raw creativity and grit of this city. Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is. Richmond’s Famous Romantix Mural Gets a New Chapter

For a decade, the mural outside the Romantix adult store, formerly Taboo, on Midlothian Turnpike has been one of Richmond's most debated pieces of public art. Now it's gone, replaced by a new collaboration between tattoo artist and muralist Jesse Smith and Miami-based...

Can Firehouse Put Richmond on the National Theatre Map?

In the electric and perpetually sincere terrain of Richmond’s theatre culture, there are institutions that do more than merely reside, they lead. They serve as a measure of our city's potential beyond its natural aspirations. I've witnessed Firehouse Theatre inhabit...

Everything We Did Was A Bad Idea
