The Art Assignment, a weekly PBS Digital Studios production hosted by curator Sarah Green, has just released a new video showcasing all of the amazing art, galleries and other shops Richmond has to offer as part of their “Art Trip” series.

Their goal is to introduce people to artists, each of whom devise and share an assignment that relates to their approach to art and serves as an open call for makers across the globe, according to the website.

In this week’s video, The Art Assignment takes a trip to Richmond to explore our rich art culture and other shops, restaurants and places where they “explored the intersection of local history and contemporary society, and how they influence each other’s interpretation.”

Featured in the video: The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Quirk Hotel, Rappahannock Restaurant
Lamplighter Roasting Company, Early Bird Biscuit Co., Reynolds Gallery, 1708 Gallery, VCU’s Undergraduate Juried Fine Arts Exhibition, the future site of The Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU, Sub Rosa Bakery and Libby Hill Park.
