Tapped: Kindred Spirit’s Lucid Release, Fine Creek’s Saison Vielle & Intermission’s Brown Sugar Porter

What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly craft beer column where you can find all your craft beer-related events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts’ desire.

If you missed last week’s beer news, you can check those out here. Our cup is overflowing with news this week from releases to events, and other cool happenings around town, so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

First up, a little mix up from last week that we want to clear up! We got you all excited for the release of Trapezium’s brew, Banana Cream Pie, part of their small batch pie series. Its actually getting released tonight and this is the last beer of the last series for the summer at least so don’t worry you didn’t miss out! Head down to the Petersburg brewery tonight to check out this tasty cream ale, which is brewed with bananas, lactose, vanilla cookies, and vanilla bean.

The return of Lucid, a hazy New England IPA, comes back to Kindred Spirit Brewing tonight. Snag you some in cans while it’s still available in the taproom!

Triple Crossing’s downtown location has a double release for you this Friday. They are bringing back their flagship Falcon Smash IPA, $13 per 4 pack (1 case limit).

Also, make sure you try out their Salinity Gose with Lime. The brewery’s base gose featuring pink Himalayan sea salt gets the full-on lime treatment. Citrusy and tart, this brew is just what you need after nearly melting away in this heat.

Castleburg will release it’s Above the Salt Gose with raspberries. This is the second sour that the brewery’s churned out and I’m excited to try this one out!

This Saturday, Midnight Brewery will release the MASH brew of Brian Dueweke. The beer, Copa Cascara, is a dark, chocolatey porter brewed with cascara to deliver rich, dark fruit flavors including cherries and figs.

Bob’s Brew and Andrea’s Ale return to Hardywood this Friday. The beers were made in support of Ales for ALSJus Cukn, LLC* will be there serving up good eats. Bob’s Brew 2018 is a hoppy hefeweizen brewed in honor of Bob Murtaugh who lost his battle with ALS. Andrea’s Ale 2018 is a hoppy hefeweizen with strawberries brewed to honor ALS warrior Andrea Lytle Peet. One dollar from every pint of Ales for ALS beer sold is donated directly to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI), the world’s first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research. This weekend Fine Creek Brewing Co. will have their Blueberry Grisette, Tart Grisette, and Strawberry Rhubarb Brett Saison back on draught. They will also be releasing their Saison Vielle, an older style saison with a very light dry finish and lots of herbal fruity noble hop character. This Saturday they will be doing another STEAL THE GLASS deal with their Blueberry & Blackberry White IPA on Cask. Dylan Jane will be playing Friday evening and Eli Cook will be playing on Saturday evening. Go get some fresh brews and hear some new tunes Richmond!

To celebrate Virginia Craft Beer Month, every Wednesday you can buy a 20-ounce beer at Strangeways and steal your choice of a Strangeways beer glass (taster, goblet or wizen). And …if you buy a flight of 10 or more beers you can steal their famous Strangeways tin tray.

Three Notch’d RVA Collab House returns this Thursday with its weekly collaboration. This time, its “Lush-ious,” a Maple Pecan Brown Ale made in partnership with Lush Cupcakes. Grab some free Bourbon Pecan Pie cupcakes from Lush as well, which incorporate the new brew and Reservoir Distillery bourbon buttercream. Pint Specials on the New Release from 4-7pm.

Asteroids Double IPA returns to the taps at Final Gravity Brewing Co. this Friday. Columbus, Mosaic, and Citra will blast you with flavors of summer fruits and florals with a punch of citrus. Get ready to level up Richmond!

Intermission Beer Company out in Glen Allen has a new brew for you to try out this Friday. Their Brown Sugar Porter is dark with a medium body and hints of molasses. And at only 5.4% you won’t need to be carried out of there.

Canon & Draw Brewing Company has a new juicy brew release for you when its Gentle Winds IPA. this 7% IPA moves in with smooth tropical aromas. Huge additions of Equinox and Azacca burst with flavors of mango and pineapple, and orange juice. Available now go buy the West Main Street brewery and let it take you away to paradise!

Center of the Universe is getting to the Oktoberfest spirit a little early this year with their release this Saturday. 1/2 and Full Liter boots will be available for sale as we all await their 2 Day Oktoberfest Celebration which will kick off Oct. 5-6.

Legend has also just released their Oktoberfest brew so you don’t have to wait for their celebration either! Go grab a pint or a 6 pack!

Vasen Brewing is still celebrating their Gose Month and they have plenty of options to choose from! Try their Cranbiscus Otter, a Ruby-red gose brewed with hibiscus petals and conditioned on cranberry. Tasty and light for summer!Image may contain: text
