Capital Ale House’s first Virginia Beer and Bluegrass Mini Fest this Saturday.

The festival will feature Virginia breweries, distilleries, wineries along with bluegrass, Americana and folk tunes from Virginia bands.

Attendees will have the chance to sample beers from Goochland farm brewery Lickinghole Creek, Adventure Brewing in Fredericksburg, and Pale Fire Brewing, based in Harrisonburg.

Audrey Finney, Marketing & Music Hall Manager for Capital Ale said the venue has been planning the festival since last month.

“I thought it would be a great kick-off to the spring festival season,” she said. “We have these great sliding windows that we can open up, and a ton of space. The weather is supposed to be great, so I think they feel {it} will be just right for a great little inside mini-fest!

Finney said the featured three breweries mentioned above will have special beers tapped, as well as some tables with give aways, and reps from the breweries will be on site to hang out and chat.

“There will be some special kegs of beers from these breweries and you can sample them before you buy a full pint, which are available per the regular,” she said.

Besides sampling beer, local and regional bluegrass musicians will be there providing the entertainment.

Richmond’s James Justin & Co, South Hill Banks, Sturgeon City, The Tide Rose, and Woody Woodworth and The Rebel City will be performing at the festival.

Fredericksburg’s Cabin Creek and Strong Water from Harrisonburg will also perform their tunes. Music will kick off at 2:30 pm.

And although this is the first mini-fest at the venue of its kind, Finney said Capital Ale House plans to host it annually.

“I hope to keep this going every year and get more local bands, breweries, and even some artisan vendors to get involved,” she said.

Virginia Beer and Bluegrss Mini Fest will kick off at 2 pm on Saturday, March 26th at Capital Ale House’s downtown location in their music hall.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Get your tickets here.
